Providing the inspiration for the TV series Columbo, the theatrical predecessor Prescription: Murder tells the story of a brilliant psychiatrist and his mistress who hatch a plot to murder his neurotic, possessive wife.

Auditions are held in group format consisting of reading sides from the script. Each 30-minute session has a maximum capacity of 6 auditioners.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
DR. ROY FLEMMING
Male presenting character
Age range: 40+
A polished, urbane New York psychiatrist.
Highly civilized, pragmatic, with a cold intellegence.
(NOTE: This role require stage intimacy (kissing) with SUSAN)
SUSAN HUDSON
Female presenting character
Age range: 20's to 30's
An actress with a hint of latent sensuality.
(NOTE: This role require stage intimacy (kissing) with DR. ROY FLEMMING)
DAVE GORDON
No gender specification
Age range: Any age (20+)
A smooth lawyer with one eye on a political future.
CLAIRE FLEMMING
Female presenting character
Age range: 40+
Brittle and sardonic, showing the strain of a loveless marraige.

LIEUTENANT COLUMBO

Age range: Any age (20+)
A rumpled police official. Seemingly bumbling and vague, with an overly apologetic, almost deferential manner, which masks an inner shrewdness and knowledge of human nature. ​

A pleasant, efficient woman with a genuine liking for people.​
